The adventure started at 4 am this morning, when I woke up to blinding pain in my back. I wandered around the house trying to pretend I have a medical degree & decipher the problem before finally choosing to wake the peacefully sleeping Mr. Wonderful. Well once I woke him up, he was in hyperdrive & we were out of the house in minutes and at the emergency room 2 towns over faster than a speeding bullet.
We got me all checked in and here's where the fun starts; I get to get an IV! (I'm terrified of needles and I'm a very hard "stick" or so I've been told by my phlebotomist friends) This poor nurse proceeds to stick me 11 times, and FAIL 11 times mind you, before she decides to call in the Calvary to assist. (Meanwhile I'm at a 7 on the pain scale & dying.). Maybe next time I say "they always use infant needles for draws" she'll listen!! I doubt it, but maybe.
They gave me lots of fun things in my IV, including some killer pain meds & a bunch of saline.. (Apparently I was super dehydrated- should have read my earlier post about staying hydrated apparently) I got to have an x-ray & a CT scan, then watch some cartoons while the Dr.s figured out what to do with me..
The diagnosis you ask?? Kidney Stone! Great! Just what I always wanted (again). I was released with 6 pages of instructions & a bag of goodies including 2 prescriptions & home I went.
Bonus: I don't have to suffer for a month like I did 9 years ago when I had stones..it has. passed, i think I will be okay! Now to get some much needed rest.

Mid-April Plant Update!
Well here we are, Tax Day... And who's driving to the post office in a Blizzard to mail the taxes??? This girl. So I braved the blizzard, (really my first time driving in that much snow EVER) & survived.
Here is the plant update:
Peas are coming in nicely, the sunflowers are sprouted & the cucumbers are making an appearance. The corn is doing well, I'm waiting on the watermelons & cantaloupes to show. The lettuce needs to get transplanted as do the Brussels sprouts & celery but it WON'T STOP SNOWING!!! Doesn't the weather know I need to put my veggies outside!?!?!?

Observations from the Back Deck...
While watching the stunning sunset tonight, I was privy to the funniest interaction between 2 sets of geese. By the way that one was squawking at the other, they must have been married and this was a spat. The first goose kept walking away, while the second one was following behind, squawking and chasing after the first one. this happened with both sets of geese as they prepared to bed down for the night, (nothing like going to bed angry i guess it happens in the animal kingdom too). I wish I could have gotten it recorded, but the sound quality wasn't there, and I didn't want to intrude on their argument. :)
Gardening Progress: Week 2
Turns out maybe I lived in the wrong state for trying to grow things, everything I try to grow seems to pop right up! Here's the progress for the end of the second week!
I can't wait to put everything outside! (Still waiting for the final frost of the season... Whenever that is! )
Happy gardening!

We're tiny, we're toony, We're all a little looney...
Have you ever have a day that looks more & more like an episode of Animaniacs than it ever could resemble a shred of a normal human existence? This has been today for me.
First I take a shower and open beauty products that went to California with us last week (elevation 35ft) and they exploded in the bathroom (elevation 5550ft).. Then I take the dog for a wander an the wonder-dog crashed into me; at a dead run from behind on my bad knee no less... knocking me FLAT on my back in the dirt (thankfully no one saw so a bruised ego is not among my injuries). I've spent most of the day with my knee elevated, applying ice. I decided that I would hard-boil some eggs for Mr. Wonderfuls lunch and (I'm trying a new way I saw on the Internet)- through the course of this little adventure I manage to EXPLODE an egg IN the microwave... Even better, my back was to the microwave so I screamed like the total chicken that I am.
Where is my wine?
Could today just be over please???
I'd like a mulligan!
Still wondering where my wine is...

Maybe I don't have a black thumb afterall....
We have little plants!! Not as many as I had hoped but still it's better than nothing!! This little Jiffy Plant starter thing is amazing! This is the progress from week 1- we have sunflowers, cucumbers, beets, lettuce, peas, and Brussels sprouts all starting. The rosemary is still alive and the succulents are so happy in their new containers.
I bring them out to the deck to bask in the sun everyday (don't judge me- I'm a paranoid plant grower).
I also convinced Mr. Wonderful to build me a planter for the little darlings once the frost is over and we can leave them outside. He did a wonderful job!! (My crazy plan + his handiness & know-how= DIY magic).
It has been stunning here lately, more deer have joined the herd in the field and the sunsets look like watercolor paintings.
Life is good!
