Feeling the pull of the tides from 915 miles away

When I lived a mere 5 minutes from the Pacific Ocean, you could hardly drag me to the beach even on the most perfect of days. I guess you could say I took it for granted, and here I sit 915 miles from the place I never went to; longing to dig my toes in the hot sand and soak up the warmth of the sun. We are at the very beginning of winter out here and I'm already longing for the coast. I think I finally understand why so many people in these frigid states take tropical vacations during the winter months.

A friend of mine took an amazing picture of the beach at home a few nights ago, it made me miss home more than I can say.
